Pastoral Support
At Southwood, we place great importance on caring for the whole child. We offer a wide range of pastoral support to nurture the physical and emotional wellbeing of every child, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported throughout their time with us.
We are proud of our caring pastoral approach, which helps children feel safe, happy, and connected to our school community. When children feel secure and listened to, they are able to flourish, build positive relationships, and reach their full potential. We believe that a happy child is more confident, more resilient, and more ready to learn, and any worries can be noticed early and quickly addressed.
For some children, we also provide additional, more personalised pastoral support to ensure their individual needs are met with care and compassion.
As parents and carers, you know your child better than anyone, and your support plays an essential role in helping them navigate any challenges they may face. We encourage you to explore the resources and guidance provided on our website.
These materials are designed to offer practical strategies that you can use at home to help your child develop confidence and resilience.
As always, please feel free to contact your child's class teacher if you need any support.
Support Available in our School
Within our school we have a trained ELSA who can provide support for children in our school. We also have a Lego Therapy trained member of staff.
